Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne has to be one of my very favorite animes of all time.Not only does the anime have gorgeous design and originality,but it honors one of my favorite historical icons:Jeanne D'arc.You can see more about the symbolism in my Books section.Of course,I do have a crush on one of the characters in it..Access Time!*gets all heart-eyed*And if you love the anime,READ THE MANGA!The art is breathtaking!I have some pictures from the artbook on my site,but that doesn't even begin to show you how immensely perfect Arina Takemura's art is.I suggest checking out this anime if you love history,an awesome and intense plotline,and to-die-for artistry.

Maron,a normal schoolgirl is told by semi-angel Fin Fish that she is the reincarnation of France's female savior: Jeanne D'arc,and must save the world from the demons prying on beautiful souls by "stealing" the items possessed by demons and sealing the demons inside as Kaitou Jeanne.Along the way,she meets with Kaitou Sinbad,whom she thinks is the devil's servant,and whose helper is black-angel Access Time(a major hottie with the hots for Fin Fish!).Eventually,Jeanne realizes that Chiaki,her classmate,and the two fall in love!The problem with stealing items to help god:Miyako Toudaiji,Maron's best friend,and daughter of the police cheif in charge of stopping the robberies!Not to mention what happens after that:when all seems clear,Fin Fish reveals a shocking secret.She's a trecherous FALLEN ANGEL!Has Jeanne actually been tricked into working for the devil?!Well,luckily,no..everything's fine in the end.I won't give out any more info,but you can get the entire series on DVD(the japanese dvd has english subtitles) at EBAY.com

Toudaiji Miyako is the Inspector Javere of the series:she just has to catch Jeanne!But can she solve the mystery behind this thief,who seems to be helping people as well as stealing?

Excellent anime!A must see for fans of animes like Rose of Versailles (French backgrounds) or Kaitou Saint Tail.Artwork is absolutely gorgeous!
